Hello,

my name is Markus, i was born in Vienna/Austria 1976 and got diagnosed in 1995. It took the doctors almost one year to know that I have Achalasia. After one dilation in 1995 I had no more problems swallowing foods and drinks, but even though I am still having spasms (approximately every 2-3 weeks).
As I did not find a german spoken forum for achalasia, I had the idea to start my own one couple of years ago, which by now has about 220 members. http://forum.achalasie.com
Fortunately I got a lot of good reputation for the german forum and people were asking for an english version as well, which is actually the reason why I am offering this page now.

As it is very helpful for others to read the experiences of people who have to cope with this disease it would be good if you share your story. Other than you are also welcome to introduce yourself, if you want.
If you have any more questions related to this forum, don't hesitate to contact me!

-cheers-
